Mothering Sunday
14th March 2021
Mother's Day, or Mothering Sunday, is a day to remember and honour our mothers and other mother figures, such as grandmothers, stepmothers and mothers-in-law. Mother’s Day is held on the fourth Sunday of Lent, being three weeks before Easter Sunday.
Mothering Sunday was originally a time when people returned to the church, in which they were baptised or where they attended services when they were children. This meant that families were reunited on this special day as adults returned to the towns and villages where they grew up. They would often bring food or small gifts for their mothers hence how the modern-day celebration has come about.
At Mgflamingo cards we have a great range of cards that are ideal for sending your mums, to let them see how much they mean to you.
